In June 2018, the Board of the ESB-MACC, Austin's Mexican American Cultural Center, approved to place our augmented reality tribute honoring iconic former Austin Mayor Gus Garcia within their courtyard grounds.
The digital installation features former Austin Mayor Gus Garcia's own stories and advice that can be heard through geolocated audio excerpts that appear around you when you open up the event using the augzoo app.
The augmented reality digital installation is also featured at the pavilion in front of Austin City Hall and was previously located at the Gus Garcia Recreation Center in East Austin. Each location features unique audio shared through Garcia’s own personal oral history.
