augzoo® is excited to announce our partnership with the University of Texas’ Visual Arts Center (VAC) to bring Adrian Aguilera’s “East: Sun – Rise AR Intervention” to life as part of the Blackland Prairies Art Exhibition. This augmented reality (AR) project uses archival photographs of Austin’s Black and Latino communities, mapping them onto key historical locations in East Austin. The interactive experience, available through the augzoo® app, provides users with a powerful, immersive way to engage with the rich cultural history of the area, including landmarks like Rosewood Park, Givens District Park, and Anderson High School. By integrating AR into this artistic intervention, augzoo® amplifies conversations about cultural erasure, gentrification, and the preservation of Black and Latino histories in Austin.
