In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, an augmented reality digital event will take place free using the augzoo™ app at the Texas State Capitol grounds starting on MLK Day through February 2018. You will need to have your wifi or data plan on to experience the installation.
The “Austin Remembers: MLK” digital event can also be experienced at these locations:
– South Steps of the Texas Capitol extending to the Texas African-American Memorial Monument. (Jan 15th – Feb. 28th)
– Martin Luther King Statue at University of Texas’ East Mall on MLK Day.
– Huston-Tillotson University MLK Celebration @ Google Fiber Tent (January 15th )
– Carver Museum (Jan 16th – Jan. 27th )
The event features photos from the University of Texas LBJ Library and recordings of Austin Area Heritage Council’s MLK Oratory competition finalists. Six Square documentary videos of Austin’s African American Community can also be found hovering over The Texas African American History monument while using augzoo™.
